Manuscript; apparently Hewson's rough draft of the major portion of his: Appendix, relating to the discovery of the lymphatic system in birds, fish, and the animals called amphibious. Being a vindication of the author's right to these discoveries, in opposition to the claim of Dr. Alexander Monro. ... This manuscript begins with the 3d paragraph of the version printed as Appendix [etc.] (p. 159-218) of his Experimental inquiries, part the second. ... London, 1774. Text altered in the printed version. Both manuscript and text begin with a discussion of priority (Hewson vs. Monro) in proposing a procedure for paracentesis of the thorax.
